PROOF OF PURCHASE / "FOR THE BIG ONES"

HOW TO ENTER

Random House Children's Books will donate one book to First Book (up to 2,000,000 books) of any Seuss Random House Children's Book purchased between January 9, 2007 and May 1, 2007. Mail receipt/proof of purchase along with name, address and age to Cat in the Hat 50th Birthday Promotion / PO Box 6891 / Stacy, MN  55078-9934. Receipts must be received by May 1, 2007. LIMIT ONE RECEIPT PER HOUSEHOLD. Illegible receipts will not be accepted. Random House is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, illegible, stolen, postage due, incomplete or misdirected receipts. Receipts become the property of Random House and will not be returned, so please keep a copy for your records.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, and Canada, excluding the Province of Quebec, who are 18 years old or older on March 2, 2007.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House Inc., NEA, First Book, and their parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, and advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies; their immediate family members, and persons living in their household are not eligible to participate.

PRIZES

There are no "winners" chosen nor will any prizes be given away. For every complete receipt received, the sender will not receive anything in return.

WINNERS

There will be no "winners" chosen. All receipts received by May 1, 2007 will be tallied and state by state results will be posted on www.catinthehat.com.  Total count of Seuss books purchased will be done by the Random House Marketing Department staff on or around May 15, 2007.

RESERVATIONS

Receipt of proof of purchase constitutes consent of the use of the Participants' names, essays, likenesses, and biographical data for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Random House Inc. with no additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law). Other entry names will NOT be used for subsequent mail solicitation. By participating, participants (and participant's parent/legal guardian) agrees that Random House LLC, NEA, First Book, and their parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, advertising, promotion, fulfillment agencies, and suppliers will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by participants (and participants' parent/legal guardian) for any liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to person, including death, and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the participation in this promotion. By sending in a Receipt, all participants consent to the use of the Participants' name, likeness, and biographical data for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Random House LLC with no additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law).


CARD RECEIPT / "FOR THE LITTLE ONES"

HOW TO ENTER

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. For every Cat in the Hat Birthday Card received by mail or online, Random House Children's Books will donate one book to First Book (up to 2,000,000 books). Official Cat in the Hat Birthday Cards can be found in the first printing of The Cat in the Hat Party Edition (on sale 1/9/2007), at participating retailers hosting an NEA Read Across America Event, or online at www.catinthehat.com. Hand-made cards will be accepted and need to include each child's name, age and state information on the card. Mail cards to The Cat in the Hat / PO Box 6891 / Stacy, MN 55078-9934. Birthday Cards must be received by Random House between January 9, 2007 and June 30, 2007 at midnight. Random House will continue to receive birthday cards until midnight December 30, 2007—but only those received by June 30, 2007 will be included towards a First Book donation. LIMIT ONE BIRTHDAY CARD PER PERSON. Partially completed or illegible Birthday Cards will not be accepted. Sponsors will not be responsible for lost, late, mutilated, illegible, stolen, postage due, incomplete or misdirected Birthday Cards. Birthday Cards become the property of Random House and will not be returned, so please keep a copy for your records.
