
A retrospective on the artistic talent of Theodor Seuss
Geisel
November 2003 marks the launch of “The Art of Dr.
Seuss, A Retrospective and National Touring Exhibition”
chronicling the Life and Art of Theodor Seuss Geisel.
The exhibit, presented by The Chase Group and curator
William W. Dreyer, provides a rare glimpse into the artistic
life of this celebrated American Icon.
This historical exhibition will touch on little known
aspects of Ted Geisel’s artistic career including:
• The Early Illustrations
• Advertising Works
• World War II
• The Economy
• Into Obscurity
• Inside the Illustration Art
• A Collection of Unorthodox Taxidermy
• The Secret Art collection
• Works from the Dr. Seuss Estate
• The Dr. Seuss National Memorial and sculpture
garden

The exhibit will draw together, for the first time,
material from prominent and previously unseen private
collections including; the Dr. Seuss Estate, the Lyndon
Baines Johnson Presidential Library, the Dr. Seuss archives
at the University of California, San Diego, The Henderson
Collection, The Charles Cohen Collection, and The Bernard
Collection
A select number of museums and art galleries will play
host to the Art of Dr. Seuss tour which continues through
2005.
