In our busy lives, the island we vie for everyday is the time we spend reading to our young children. We are so grateful to Dr. Seuss for making that time full of laughter, fancy and fun.

And what a special treat it is to rediscover the tale of The Sneetches, poor wretches so obsessed with their differences that they forget who they are. It isn’t until they are all bamboozled by a delightful swindler that they understand that they have much more in common than sets them apart. In a cynical age that bombards our children with disposable distractions, there is nothing more satisfying than the sight of a young child laughing and understanding such a simple and profound truth. Thank you Dr. Seuss!
