Pinwheel Sandwiches

The swirl of red and white in this sandwich will both tickle imaginations and delight tummies!

What You’ll Need:

  • one flour tortilla or other flatbread
  • 4 slices of deli-sliced chicken or turkey
  • 2 slices of deli-sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • julienned red tomato or red pepper (or sundried tomatoes)

Directions:

To make one serving, layer all ingredients on the flour tortilla. Start with the meat, then arrange the tomato or pepper strips lengthwise over it. Top with cheese.

Roll the tortilla tightly (like a jellyroll). Wrap the rolled tortilla in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

To serve, remove the plastic wrap and use a serrated knife to trim the ends of the tortilla. Cut the roll into 4 slices and arrange the pinwheels on a plate or pack in a food storage container for school-lunch fun!
