Make your own sidewalk paint and bring art to your neighborhood!
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- food coloring
- 4 jars or containers with lids
- paintbrushes or sponges
Directions:
Mix the water and cornstarch together. Pour ¼ of the mixture into each jar. Add 6 to 12 drops of food coloring to each. Put the lids on the jars and shake well.
Gather kids, paint, and paintbrushes, and head outside! Sidewalks and driveways are great canvases for making murals. Try drip and splatter techniques, or trace bodies to create self-portraits.
Note:
Ask kids to avoid using the paint on anything white to prevent possible staining. Paint will wash away from sidewalks after a couple of rainstorms.
